Withness is a Los Angeles-based bilingual community singing practice founded by Francisco Ruiz — a Berklee College of Music graduate and three-time Latin Grammy-nominated artist who has toured and collaborated with U2, Bobby McFerrin, and KC Porter.
We design and facilitate participatory music experiences that bring people together through voice — circle singing, call and response, sound bath, and bilingual repertoire. Our sessions are built for people who don't think of themselves as singers. No experience required.
Francisco has facilitated at national and international stages including UU General Assembly (2018-2023), the National A Cappella Convention (2015-2016), Harmonize, Circle Songs School, the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival (LAAF), and college workshops in Ecuador. He served as Music Director at UU Church of Long Beach for five years and has led music programming for congregations, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations across the US.
We offer sessions in English, Spanish, or bilingually — and work across corporate wellness, faith communities, educational institutions, and retreat centers.
