
Sanford McMurray is an emotional fitness coach, certified counsellor, speaker, author, and founder of Mental Wealth is Health (MWH), a practice dedicated to improving the emotional wellbeing of boys and men. Living in Australia for nearly 30 years, Sanford combines over four decades of lived experience with professional training in counselling, coaching, performing arts, and community development.
His work focuses on helping men develop emotional literacy, resilience, healthy relationships, purpose, and authentic brotherhood. Sanford is the creator of the Emotional Fitness model and the Ashes to Armour Framework, which helps men transform pain, trauma, rejection, and adversity into strength, leadership, and connection.
He is the author of the forthcoming book Ashes to Armour: The Practice of Emotional Fitness for Men Who Have Had Enough and the driving force behind the documentary Why Are Men Afraid to Help Other Men Level Up?, exploring loneliness, mentorship, and the future of boys and men. His mission is to turn isolation into connection and pain into purpose.
