About the Host
Renée Benmeleh is the founder of Sound Nourishment and a dynamic facilitator with over 20 years of experience in world music, vocal performance, and community ritual. She holds a B.A. in Vocal Performance from Mills College and a certification in Sound, Voice, and Music Healing from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Renée’s musical path spans jazz, vocal improvisation, East Indian Raga, Middle Eastern vocals and percussion, African and Afro-Brazilian rhythms, and more. A skilled multi-instrumentalist and drum circle facilitator, she has led transformative musical experiences for children, adults of all ages, corporations, institutions, private events, healing circles, families, and teams since 2001.
She has performed with The Orpheus World Music Ensemble, Project Vox, and is currently performing with the Sound Medicine team led by Pollyanna Bush, alongside members of Bobby McFerrin’s vocal ensemble Motion and other renowned musicians.
Renée was mentored by Peruvian ancestral sound healer Tito La Rosa and has facilitated ritual through song for over two decades in both the Lakota-Sioux ceremonial tradition and the Jewish Renewal community.

I have facilitated events all over the Bay Area and in Austin with Google. I am open to travel anywhere depending on the opportunity and ROI for accommodations. I am fluent in Spanish so that creates many options though much of my work can be conveyed without speaking a word!
