Workshop

Description

Attendees are guided through an immaterial (theory and sensibility) and material artistic session for creatives and those seeking to deepen their artistic perception, whether for self-expression or appreciation of the arts (visual arts, literature, cinema, music, and performance). The session is divided into temporality, decomposition, and independent recompositing moments. For temporality, we are going to through fertile discussions present our ideas towards the value of memory, the idea of contemporary art and exercise our imagination of the near future, moving to decomposition, breaking the idea that art is a matter of binarism, of ‘’rights and wrongs’’, of ‘’who can or cannot’’, at the same time that we will find constancy and discipline on our assertiveness and wonders of many forms of art. Practical exercises are proposed to decompose the ideas of rigidness of the creatives through guidance with music, drawing in the dark and in non-stable environments, and Dada poetry, exploring the possibilities of the trace, of the sound, and the words as a tool to enrich and refine our environmental attention as well as our capacity to develop techniques out of relaxation and external attention rather than solely technical grounds. Sessions are buildable and can be designed specifically for each person or group needs, rather for beginners of other art professionals or art students, including writers and creatives from digital techniques (cinema and games). The techniques applied are a mix, then, of deep research and experience in the field of art as a form of living, rooted in technical, historical, and social diversity to help you to unlock your potential with tools that you can apply for any stage of your artistical discoveries.
As a professional interdisciplinary artist and theorist of the arts, this session is built with the aim to demystify a myriad of ideas surrounding creative process and art contemplation, bringing resilience and liberation of artistic perception to the attendees, yet providing tools based on philosophy of art, philosophy of perception, history of art and practical exercises to reach such independent thinking, both providing a better relation with your own creativity and to create bridges within artworks surrounding us.

Benefits

Deepen perspective in art and culture, Confidence in Creative Choices, Focus for creative work, applicable knowledge in philosophy of art, refinement on sensible perception for creative creations (visual, sound and spatial observation in the arts), awareness of material perception (techniques), empathy, presence and self-performance.
