Workshop

Description

Some of the most powerful stories we can share are personal ones—stories of challenge, loss, triumph, transformation, or lived experience. But how do we tell these stories safely, with purpose and impact, without retraumatising ourselves or overwhelming our audience?

This workshop teaches participants trauma-informed frameworks for crafting and sharing personal narratives with structure, dignity, and power. Whether sharing a professional journey, a personal challenge overcome, or a lived experience story, participants learn to honour their truth while creating meaningful connection.

Led by an Accredited SafeTALK Trainer and former CEO with lived experience of suicide loss, this workshop creates a psychologically safe space to explore personal storytelling with expert guidance.

WHAT MAKES THIS UNIQUE:
• Trauma-Informed Expertise: Facilitated by accredited SafeTALK trainer with extensive mental health sector experience
• Lived Experience Credibility: Led by someone who has both taught and shared vulnerable personal stories publicly
• Psychological Safety First: Techniques that protect storyteller while maximising impact
• Purpose-Driven: Every story has a "why"—we help you find yours
• Professional + Personal: Frameworks work for TEDx talks, team culture-building, advocacy, or personal growth
• Evidence-Based: Drawing on narrative therapy, trauma-informed practice, and 20+ years facilitating sensitive conversations

About the Host

I'm a storytelling and communication specialist with 20+ years helping leaders, teams, and organisations craft powerful narratives that drive connection, clarity, and change.

Based in Sydney, Australia, I've worked internationally across government, health, and corporate sectors—from the UK Department for International Development to European law firms, Australian health organisations, and national mental health peak bodies. As former Deputy CEO and Acting CEO of a national organisation, I bring strategic leadership thinking to practical workshop delivery.

My approach combines structure with authenticity. Whether I'm coaching executives on presentation skills, facilitating team storytelling sessions, or helping organisations articulate their brand narrative, I create psychologically safe spaces where people discover the power of their own stories.

I'm trained in trauma-informed practice and hold a Masters in Communication Management, plus qualifications as an adult educator and accredited SafeTALK trainer. This unique combination allows me to facilitate workshops on sensitive topics with both expertise and care.

My workshops are interactive, evidence-based, and immediately applicable—participants leave with frameworks they can use straight away to communicate with greater impact, confidence, and purpose.
