Description

The Satyananda Yoga Tradition forms part of the Bihar yoga tradition in which this approach has an integral approach when looking at an individual. The practical foundations of this tradition are provided by the Tantras which provides a slow, steady and systematic form of yoga. This traditional approach focuses on the physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of an individual and provides the opportunity to unblock challenges and work with scientific and ancient techniques to manage one’s life effectively. Yoga is an ancient science and traces back as far as 8000 years ago, when a variety of yoga forms developed. The Bihar School of Yoga is the sanctuary of Swami Satyananda Saraswati and this form of yoga was established in 1964.
Satyananda yoga seeks a traditional approach to yoga and looks at understanding oneself through the different branches of yoga. For example, hatha yoga and karma yoga are the physical expressions of yoga, raja yoga and bhakti yoga are the psychological expressions of yoga and kriya yoga and jnana yoga are the knowing and realising expressions of yoga. Therefore, yoga says we are not just a physical body but rather that we have a physical, mental, emotional-energetic and bliss body and it is through the techniques that we get to truly know ourselves.
This session will weave in supportive processes around the theme of GBV and tools that women can use to help regulate their nervous system.
Part of this healing yoga session includes:
• Postures to support anxiety, depression, anger and trauma
• Breathing techniques to support lethargy and stress
• How to develop their personal practice at home

About the Host

Jean Rodrigues is a certified coach and facilitator who specialises in supporting individuals to reconnect with their whole selves — mind, body, and emotions — to create sustainable change, resilience, and fulfilment in both life and work. With a background spanning coaching, somatic practice, psychology, and creative industries, Jean brings a warm, inclusive, and deeply grounded presence to her work. Her approach blends emotional intelligence, stress and executive function support, and powerful tools for rewiring limiting narratives and patterns. She works with both individuals and teams across corporate, educational, non-profit and recovery sectors. Whether coaching leaders navigating burnout, neurodivergent adults seeking balance, or young professionals finding their voice, Jean meets each client with compassion, curiosity, and clarity — helping them return to their inner compass and live more aligned, meaningful lives. She is also a qualified coach supervisor and offers reflective spaces for fellow coaches to grow their practice with integrity, presence and professional resilience. Alongside this, Jean is a Satyananda yoga teacher with over 16 years experience. Jean offers Satyananda yoga sessions, fire ceremonies and cacao ceremonies. She curates and guides wellness retreats with the foundation of mental health, self-development, the science of yoga and the Enneagram. “Lasting transformation happens when we come back to the body — when we learn to feel, to breathe, to pause. Coaching for me is a space where we remember how to lead ourselves, not just manage life.”
