Description
Want to know the tricks to writing a great screenplay?
Screenwriting 101 takes participants through the ideation, creation, development and execution of a screenplay. A session that will showcase how a few key aspects can quickly elevate an idea into a eye-catching story.
From establishing a strong theme, to utilising genre, structure, and understanding your audience, the keys to screenwriting can transform your creative output with tools that can quickly define and shape your story.
A fun and interactive workshop that'll have you with a whole new perspective, love and appreciation for film, Screenwriting 101 is designed to provide participants with valuable and transferrable skills that can be applied to creative and corporate industries.
Benefits
Participants will be taken through exercises that explore why they enjoy the movies they enjoy - looking deeper into the emotional core of why we're drawn to certain stories.
We then look at the inner workings of theme - the writer's point-of-view on the world that will be demonstrated through the film.
We explore character and genre - how these enhance your projects.
Three-act-structure and how it shapes every story to ensure you're making an impact.
Finally, we look at being able to write a story with conflict, high stakes, and emotional impact, to ensure our films can be as powerful as possible.
We will write. We will collaborate. We will explore. And we will be surprised at what we can create in a short time!
