Workshop

Description

In a world saturated with data, reports, and campaigns, the organisations that cut through are those that know how to tell true, resonant stories of impact. Stories that make complexity accessible, hold both the reality of the problem and the possibility of solutions, and move people from passive awareness to authentic engagement.

This session draws on Emma's decade of experience crafting narratives at the frontier of systems change, from authoring globally influential publications at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation to producing the Regenerative Mind podcast series reaching 40,000+ listeners, to explore how to craft powerful impact narratives.

Participants learn to identify the stories worth telling, shape their narrative to cut through the noise, and communicate with the kind of clarity and conviction that creates real momentum.

Practical, inspiring, and immediately applicable, this session is particularly valuable for sustainability and leadership teams whose work demands they translate their efforts into narratives that empower rather than overwhelm.

Interactive talk, practical exercises, and facilitated discussion tailored to the nature of the business. Pens and post-it notes or paper will be needed.

Benefits

  • Impact narrative clarity — participants identify the core impact story their organisation, team, or project needs to be telling right now, cutting through complexity to what actually matters while carrying the essence of the organisation
  • Emotional intelligence in communication — learn to hold tension between difficult realities and genuine hope without resorting to either doom or false optimism, to actually move people
  • Practical storytelling tools — concrete frameworks for structuring impact narratives that work across formats, whether that be presentations, reports, pitches, campaigns, or conversations
  • Increased influence — participants leave with sharper instincts for what makes a story land with different audiences (funders, leadership, the public) and how to adapt accordingly
  • Team alignment — shared storytelling practice surfaces the values and convictions at the heart of a team's work, creating alignment and renewed collective purpose

About the Host

A systems change expert and facilitator dedicated to inner and outer world transformation, Emma works at the intersection of regenerative strategy, nature connection, and embodied wellbeing. With over a decade leading global programmes at institutions including the Ellen MacArthur Foundation — convening 500+ organisations across business, innovation, and philanthropy — she brings credibility with senior corporate, leadership, and ESG audiences alongside deep experience in facilitation, experiential learning design, and space holding.

Emma weaves together her skills as a certified coach (MOE Foundation), advanced meditation teacher (1 Giant Mind), yoga instructor, and yoga nidra guide to shape an array of meaningful experiences for clients. Her practice as a botanical textile artist, including a residency with UNESCO Biosphere The Living Coast, grounds her facilitation in place, nature, and ecological inquiry.
