Description

This exercise invites participants to engage in a collaborative exploration and dialogue of what they have in common and what they don’t. Working in small groups, participants will have to reach a consensus on two aspects: one thing they all like and one thing they all dislike. This could be anything from a song, movie, place, emotion, value, person, or color, etc.
Once the group agrees on these two elements, they will venture out to capture the essence of these things through photography. Afterward, the group will select two images to share with the whole group that best encapsulate their collective agreement.

Benefits

Improves Communication & Consensus-Building
This exercise encourages open dialogue, negotiation, and empathy as participants discuss their preferences and viewpoints. It's a fun way to practise active listening and find common ground.
Fosters Creativity & Collaboration
By using photography to visually represent abstract concepts, participants are pushed to think creatively and collaboratively. They work together to form a cohesive representation of their group's consensus.
Builds Team Connection & Trust
Sharing personal preferences helps people connect on a deeper level, fostering an atmosphere of trust and understanding. The shared experience of photography also creates lasting memories.
Enhances Problem-Solving & Decision-Making
Reaching a consensus in a group setting without clear instructions helps sharpen problem-solving and decision-making skills. The group must decide what to photograph and how to represent abstract ideas visually.
Strengthens Team Bonds
Sharing images and perspectives promotes empathy, active listening, and new ways of seeing one another and get to know each other — essential for collaboration.
