Workshop
Description
Regeneration is more than a sustainability buzzword. It is a fundamentally different way of relating to work, leadership and life — one rooted in cycles, reciprocity, and renewal rather than extraction and depletion.
This session introduces the principles of regenerative thinking and invites participants to explore what they mean personally and professionally. Drawing on systems thinking, circular economy, and business design, I facilitate a conversation that shifts how leaders understand their own role in the systems they inhabit. We first develop an understanding of status-quo business, its long-term drawbacks, and the opportunity for redesigning business for a flourishing future. How do we reimagine the products, services, and systems behind them to allow all life to thrive? What are the opportunities of a regenerative bioeconomy? What can support us through the transition? These are some of the types of questions explored in this session.
Thought-provoking, practically grounded, and energising, this session opens a conversation of positive possibilities that teams return to long after it ends.
Facilitated talk and group/individual discussion exercises. Pens and post-its or paper required.
Benefits
- New leadership vocabulary — participants gain a clear, embodied understanding of regenerative principles and how they differ meaningfully from conventional sustainability and leadership thinking (including their benefits of application)
- Personal insight — guided reflection surfaces where extraction vs regeneration shows up in each person's own leadership style, creating greater self-awareness and inviting opportunities for evolving ways of showing up
- Systems perspective — participants develop the capacity to see themselves and their business as part of interconnected systems rather than isolated actors, improving collaborative decision-making and maximising positive impact within and beyond the business
- Organisational application — concrete frameworks and questions to take back into teams and organisations, making regenerative thinking not just an idea, but actionable
- Renewed sense of purpose — connecting work to larger ecological and social systems renews motivation and meaning while driving new revenue, can be particularly powerful for teams experiencing change fatigue or disengagement
