Description

The real stress is not what happens outside, it's how we react inside.

The effects of mental, emotional and physical stress can accumulate, often without us realising, leading to long term health problems.

This workshop shows you how to observe yourself mindfully, tuning in to your inner state so you can start taking care where it matters. You will learn to release mental, emotional and physical stress through simple practices you can incorporate into your daily routines.

Activities included:

  1. Noticing stress reactions - observing how the mind and body react to stress .
  2. Mindful breathing - using the breath as an anchor to regain calm, focus and clarity in times of stress.
  3. Mindfulness of the 5 senses - using the 5 senses to shift away from overthinking / overwhelm, and lean towards calm presence and stability.
  4. Mindful stretching - using mindful awareness to deepen your stretches, releasing physical tension and improving circulation for overall wellbeing.
  5. Reflection and intention-setting - participants reflect on their experiences in the workshop, set intentions for integrating these practices into their daily routines.

Additional Experience Info

The 30 min session will be less interactive in order to cover all the relevant activities, and each activity will be a short demo practice where participants get to try it briefly so they will know how to do it on their own. The 45 min / 60 min session will allow for more interaction / discussion / Q&A and longer practices so participants can experience the calming effects and internalize what they learn at a deeper level.

About the Host

With 20 years' experience as a professional counsellor and 8 years' experience as a trainer/facilitator for mental wellbeing workshops, I bridge evidence-based psychological strategies with self-care practices so workshop participants can learn to proactively manage their wellbeing. The philosophy I share in my workshops: personal wellbeing is the key ingredient for success in all areas of life, so we must invest consistent efforts to keep ourselves well. I have been designing and conducting corporate workshops of varying durations, depending on the client's requirements, as well as public workshops (between 1 to 2 hours) and wellness retreats (3 to 4 days).
