Description

Discover the real art of Parkour—not YouTube stunts, but intelligent, efficient movement that transforms how you navigate your environment and handle physical challenges. Adaptive movement in body and mind to navigate and conquer obstacles in everyday life.

In this energizing 60 minute session, participants learn foundational Parkour principles in a safe, controlled indoor environment with proper matting and equipment. Through progressive exercises and partner challenges, you'll practice:

  • Precision movement: Landing techniques, balance work, and spatial awareness
  • Efficient obstacle navigation: Vaulting, climbing, and fluid transitions
  • Adaptive problem-solving: Reading environments and choosing optimal paths
  • Safe progression: Ground-level skill building with optional height challenges

All exercises are scaled to individual comfort levels. No prior fitness experience required—just curiosity and willingness to move differently.

What happens:

  • Dynamic warm-up with mobility drills
  • Core technique instruction: landing, vaulting, balance
  • Partner challenges and obstacle courses
  • Cool-down and mindset debrief

This isn't about danger—it's about control, confidence, and discovering capabilities you didn't know you had.

Benefits

1. Enhanced Spatial Intelligence & Decision-Making Parkour trains rapid environmental assessment and adaptive problem-solving under physical constraints—skills that transfer directly to navigating complex business situations and thinking on your feet.

2. Resilience Through Controlled Challenge Learning to assess and overcome physical obstacles builds mental toughness and comfort with calculated risk-taking, reducing fear of failure in professional contexts.

3. Improved Body Awareness & Injury Prevention Precision jumping and landing techniques, and balance training enhance proprioception and movement quality, reducing everyday injury risk and improving posture and coordination.

4. Team Trust & Communication Partner spotting and collaborative obstacle navigation require clear communication, mutual support, and awareness of others' capabilities—core team-building skills.

5. Breakthrough Mindset Experience Achieving movements you initially thought impossible creates powerful "I can do hard things" momentum that participants carry back to work challenges and personal goals.

6. Practical Fitness with Purpose Unlike repetitive gym exercises, Parkour provides functional strength, agility, and cardiovascular conditioning through engaging, skill-based movement that feels more like play than workout.

7. Stress Reset Through Flow The focus required for precision movement creates a meditative state that clears mental clutter and provides a complete break from work stress and screen time.

Additional Experience Info

About This Session:
Parkour gets a bad reputation from viral videos of rooftop stunts, but the real art is about intelligent, efficient and precision movement at any height. This taster focuses entirely on foundational skills practiced safely at ground level or over low obstacles (knee to waste height maximum).

I'm a certified Parkour instructor (VOK1, Suomen Parkour Ry) with 5+ years teaching experience and 35+ years in Martial Arts coaching and many more training in functional movement and other sports at a competitive level. All sessions prioritize safety-first progression, where participants work at their own comfort level.

Optimal group size: 10-16 participants ensures everyone gets hands-on practice and individual feedback. For larger teams, I recommend booking multiple back-to-back sessions.
Requirements: Indoor sports hall or gym space with basic gymnastics equipment (Wallbars, mats, crashmats, low boxes/benches/vaulting box). I'm mobile and come to your venue, or for a small additional fee we can organise it at our local partner venuein Espoo, Finland.

About the Host

About SeTs Ryu:
I'm Chris Spencer, a qualified vocational teacher (HAMK), authorized personal trainer, and certified Parkour instructor with 30+ years of experience teaching movement, self-defense, and functional fitness across Finland and the UK.

My approach combines street arts (Parkour, self-defense) with functional fitness to create practical, engaging physical education that builds both capability and confidence. I deliver sessions in English or Finnish for corporate teams, schools, and community organizations.

Training Philosophy: Experiential and Borderless Learning through interdisciplinary learning and cross-functional training—developing mind and body together through practical, inclusive programs that meet people where they are.

Every workshop is customized in real-time based on participant energy, facility capabilities, and group dynamics. With 35+ years of experience across diverse contexts, we adapt program flow, intensity, and focus to ensure an optimal experience for YOUR specific team. This adaptive expertise—not rigid scripting—is what creates memorable, effective sessions.

Workshop pricing covers instruction, program design, and standard equipment. Venue rental fees (if required) quoted separately based on location and group size. Many corporate clients prefer to host in their own facilities (meeting rooms, company gym) at no additional cost.

All prices exclude VAT (25.5%). VAT applicable per Finnish tax regulations.
