Formats for every slot in the day
From a fifteen-minute energiser in the first slot to a facilitated team day, each format is shaped to your goal, your running order and your room. Send the goal, the city, the group size and the date, and tailored options come back quickly.
| Format | Length | Group | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energiser | 15 to 30 minutes | 20 to several hundred | The first slot or straight after lunch |
| Team workshop | 90 minutes to 3 hours | 8 to 100 in one room, more in parallel | Your office, hotel or venue |
| Half-day block | 3 to 4 hours | A team or a leadership group | An away day or offsite |
| Facilitated team day | A full day | A department to a whole office | A venue chosen for the goal |

How far ahead should we book corporate team building?
Three to six weeks suits most sessions; peak seasons such as year-end and the start of the financial year fill earlier. Shorter lead times are often possible, so it is worth asking.
What do you need from us to recommend a session?
The goal of the session, the city and venue, the number of people and the date. A few lines are enough for a curator to come back with options.
Team building by occasion
The occasions teams book most, each led by experts who practise their craft at the highest level.

Kick-offs that start the year with energy
A financial-year or sales kick-off needs a moment that sets the tone for months: the whole team on its feet, laughing and making something together, then ready to listen. Experts build it around your theme and running order, from a 20-minute opener to a half-day block.
An incentive agency booked energy and sound activations for a 150-person kick-off.
PowerProv: improv that wakes up a kick-off
Fast, funny improv games that get a whole team saying yes to each other before the first strategy slide.

Formats, timing and group sizes
Openers of 15 to 30 minutes suit the first slot; a 60 to 90 minute workshop works mid-morning; a half-day block suits a smaller team or a leadership group. Groups from 20 to several hundred, with parallel facilitators for large rooms, at your office, hotel or venue. For stage formats, see conference and kick-off sessions.
How do we fit a team session into a kick-off agenda that is already full?
Use the slots that already exist: a 15-minute opener, a 5 to 10 minute activation between presentations, or a short block straight after lunch. The expert works to your running order, so nothing else has to move.
Can a team session run for 150 people at a sales kick-off?
Yes. Short activations work for the whole plenary at once, and longer formats run in parallel rooms with several facilitators sharing one design, so every table gets the same experience at the same moment.
Can a kick-off session combine team building and career development?
Yes. A common shape is a team activity in the morning and a facilitated workshop on skills or ways of working in the afternoon, both led by experts chosen for the same theme.

Team building inside your conference or partners’ meeting
A conference gains its warmth in the breakouts: a session that mixes people who rarely meet, a hands-on workshop after a dense morning, a moment that becomes the story of the event. Experts work to your producer’s running order, for one breakout or the whole plenary.
A global consultancy booked improv for 30 colleagues from three continents in Chantilly.

Breakouts, plenaries and evening sessions
Breakout workshops run 60 to 90 minutes in parallel rooms; evening experiences run 90 minutes to two hours around dinner. Teams in the Gulf often place an energetic session straight after their annual presentations; see team events in Dubai. Agencies producing the event bring us in through our partner programme.
What works as a team moment inside a partners’ or leadership conference?
Formats with substance: storytelling, improv drawn from professional theatre, a sound or breath morning before the strategy presentations, or a thinking sprint, chosen to suit the firm and the occasion.
Can a whole conference room take part at once?
Yes. One expert leads the plenary with table-level activities, or several run the same format in parallel rooms, timed to the minute and set up with your venue and AV team.

Team days, away days and retreats people talk about
A team day works when the session serves the reason you are gathering: trust after a reorganisation, morale after a demanding year, a new team finding its feet. The session is the centrepiece, chosen for that goal, and the rest of the day is built around it.
A global truck maker booked a creative team day for 25 at a Melbourne hotel.

A sample agenda for a facilitated team day
| Time | Block | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 09:30 | Arrival ritual | A short hosted opening that gets every voice in the room in the first ten minutes |
| 10:00 | Main session | The centrepiece, two hours: improv, collaborative art, a percussion circle or a culinary challenge, chosen for your goal |
| 12:00 | Lunch together | Unstructured time, where most of the day’s connection happens |
| 13:30 | Working block | Your agenda: strategy, planning or a facilitated conversation on how the team works |
| 15:30 | Reset | Twenty minutes of movement or breath to bring the energy back |
| 16:00 | Close | What the team takes back to Monday, captured in their own words |

How do I plan a team building day that feels premium and not generic?
Start from the goal, then choose one session with real craft behind it, led by an expert who practises it professionally, and give the day space around it. A curated session in a good room, with time to talk afterwards, is what people remember.
What happens in a corporate team workshop?
A short welcome, a hands-on activity led by the expert, a moment to make or perform something together and a debrief that links what happened to how the team works, all inside two to three hours.
Can a team session sit alongside a client hospitality or evening programme?
Yes. Many teams run the session in the afternoon and move straight into dinner or a client evening, so the energy of the workshop carries into the hospitality.
Can a team session be the centrepiece of an end-of-year celebration?
Yes. The end-of-year party is one of the busiest moments for team sessions, so brief as soon as the date is set. A session the whole team joins, such as music, dance or making something together, opens the evening before the dinner, from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, at your venue or office.

When teams are new, merged or international
A merger, a reorganisation or a group flying in from several countries puts people beside colleagues whose habits they do not yet know. A session built on doing, such as music, making or movement, gives them a shared experience first, then a conversation about how they will work together.
A remote software team booked a culture and communication session for its Rome offsite.

Integration, languages and travel
The first weeks matter most: a session within a month of the change sets the tone before separate cultures harden. A half day suits one team; a day and a half suits a larger integration with a creative block, a working session and a shared evening. For a full sample agenda, see our guide to a merger team integration offsite.
Sessions run in English and, in many cities, in the local language or bilingually. When the team gathers abroad, see planning an event abroad: one brief covers sessions in the destination, led by experts who know it. A consultancy recently gathered colleagues from three continents for a seminar near Paris, with an improv session at its heart.
What helps a merged or newly formed team find its shared way of working?
A shared experience before any talk of process, then a facilitated conversation where each group names what it values and the team agrees a few habits together. Making or performing something side by side builds trust faster than a discussion alone.
How soon after a reorganisation should a team session take place?
Within the first month if possible, while people are still forming their view of the new team. A later session works too, especially when it is framed around a fresh start for the year.
How do you shape one session for colleagues from different countries and preferences?
By choosing a format built on shared action, such as music, making or movement, so everyone takes part on equal footing, then adding a short, structured conversation that draws on the different ways colleagues work.
Which languages can the session run in?
English everywhere, and in many cities French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Arabic or Chinese, or bilingually, depending on the expert chosen for your group.
Can you arrange a team session in a city none of us knows?
Yes. The expert is based in or travels to the destination, knows its venues and rhythms, and adapts the session to the group, so the organiser only has to send the brief.

Staff days for public services and schools
Government departments, health services and schools gather staff with many roles, ages and abilities, often in their own buildings. Sessions for them are fully inclusive, with seated and standing options, table tasks and shared problem-solving, so every colleague takes part and the day feels like a genuine thank-you.

Accessibility, venues and scheduling
Every format can run in a staff room, a hall or a training centre, with quieter roles for anyone who prefers them and no physical demands beyond light movement. Training days, term breaks and the start of the financial year are the usual moments. Public-sector teams in Canada book through our Toronto curation team.
Can a staff day be fully inclusive and accessible?
Yes. The expert plans seated and standing options, keeps physical effort light and builds the session around table tasks and conversation, so colleagues of every age and ability take part on equal terms.
Can a session run on a school training day?
Yes. Sessions fit inside the school day in a hall or staff room, from a 90-minute morning block to a full afternoon, and can combine a creative activity with a short wellbeing talk.
