Description
Format: 1:1 private session
Duration: 120 minutes
Audience: CEOs, founders, C-suite executives and named spokespeople
Suitable for: Media interviews, conference appearances, panels, presentations, announcements, results calls and other high-profile public engagements
About the experience
An intensive one-to-one session for an executive who represents the organisation publicly.
The session focuses on how the executive communicates under pressure — whether answering a journalist’s questions, presenting on stage, participating in a panel, handling Q&A or speaking at an important company event.
Rather than generic public-speaking training, the session is tailored to the executive’s role, communication style and upcoming engagements. It combines practical techniques with realistic exercises based on the situations they are most likely to face.
The session covers:
- Message discipline and how to build clear, memorable answers
- Bridging techniques for moving from difficult questions to key messages
- Handling challenging, unexpected and repeated questions
- Participating effectively in panels and open Q&A
- What to do when the answer is “no comment”
- How to correct a false premise without becoming defensive
- Pace, pausing, filler words and other delivery habits
- Managing nerves and maintaining composure under pressure
- How to close an interview, presentation or public appearance effectively
The session is recorded throughout. Playback is used for detailed, line-by-line feedback on both content and delivery.
It can be booked as a standalone session or scheduled specifically around an upcoming interview, conference, presentation, announcement, results call or other public appearance.
Session structure
1. Preparation and personalised training — 30 min
Review of the executive’s role, communication style, upcoming engagements, key messages and areas of potential difficulty. Introduction to practical techniques for structuring messages, handling questions and improving delivery.
2. Practical exercises — 25 min
Exercises covering different forms of public representation, such as delivering a short statement, answering challenging questions, handling an open Q&A or presenting a key message under pressure.
3. Playback, feedback and further training — 30 min
Detailed review of the recording, looking at clarity, structure, delivery, pacing, filler words, body language and moments where the message was lost or weakened. Techniques are refined based on the executive’s individual performance.
4. Live simulation — 25 min
A realistic simulation tailored to the executive’s upcoming engagement — which may take the form of a media interview, panel, presentation, conference Q&A or combination of formats.
5. Final feedback and takeaways — 10 min
Key strengths, areas to work on and practical recommendations for future public appearances.
