Description

We are, at our core, meaning-making beings. Long before we analyse, strategise, or decide we interpret, imagine, and narrate.

We make sense of the world through story.

As Rumi so beautifully suggests:

“A story is like the water you heat for your bath. It carries the warmth of the fire to your skin. It allows them to meet  and in that meeting, it cleanses you.”

Story is the medium through which meaning moves.

As a biogrpahical storytelling specialist, I work with leaders to help them craft narratives that don’t simply inform but resonate, align, and transform.

But why does story matter in business?

Here’s why.

If you have ever communicated a strategic change, only to discover the next day that no one truly understood it — you need story.

If you have ever found that your message was distorted into gossip or confusion at the water cooler — you need story.

If you lead a team that struggles to articulate its value within the wider organisation — you need story.

Because story is not decoration. It is how we are hardwired. It is the bridge between intention and understanding.

Benefits

Participants will leave knowing how to:

  • Tell powerful stories without reliance on notes, speaking with conviction and presence.

  • Use an elegant, high-impact structure that helps stories land, linger, and influence.

  • Shape and perform their own key message through the medium of story, gaining real-world practice and feedback.

Benefits:

  1. Greater Leadership Confidence
Leaders develop the presence and poise to speak clearly, authentically and persuasively without scripts, strengthening their credibility in every setting.

  2. More Memorable Messages That Stick
Story transforms abstract ideas into vivid human narratives so key messages are remembered, repeated and acted upon long after meetings end.

  3. Clearer Strategy and Faster Alignment
Complex change and strategy become coherent and relatable, helping people move together with shared understanding and purpose.

  4. Stronger Team Cohesion and Belonging
Shared storytelling builds connection, empathy and mutual understanding, creating tighter and more collaborative teams who feel part of a common narrative.

  5. A More Distinctive Leadership and Cultural Signature
Story becomes a strategic asset that differentiates your leadership, your culture and your brand both internally and externally.

In bullets the 5 benefits are:

  • Confidence

  • Memorability

  • Alignment

  • Cohesion

  • Distinctiveness
