Description
Taking Space is a guided movement workshop designed to explore embodied presence, musicality and group dynamics through structured improvisation.
Drawing from my background as a contemporary dance artist trained in Berlin and Montréal, the session invites participants to explore how they inhabit space, physically, relationally and rhythmically.
Through guided improvisation, participants experiment with different movement qualities (speed, weight, fluidity, precision), spatial awareness and rhythm. The practice alternates between individual exploration, partner work and full-group dynamics.
Particular attention is given to musicality — not only in relation to music, but in the way bodies listen, respond and synchronise with one another.
The session unfolds as a focused yet accessible collective experience. No dance background is required. I move alongside participants, facilitating from within the group to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
The atmosphere is both dynamic and grounded, combining creativity with clarity and structure.
Benefits
• Strengthened embodied presence and confidence
• Enhanced non-verbal communication
• Improved sensitivity to rhythm and group synchronisation
• Increased trust and collective cohesion
• Greater awareness of spatial dynamics and leadership patterns
• Reduced stress through focused physical engagement

About the Host
I am a Berlin-based contemporary dance artist and cultural producer working at the intersection of embodied presence, musicality and collective dynamics.
My practice explores how we inhabit space physically, relationally and rhythmically and how movement can foster connection, awareness and shared focus. Through guided improvisation and somatic-based approaches, I design experiences that invite participants to explore different qualities of movement, rhythm and form while remaining attentive to others within a collective environment.
I am particularly interested in musicality, not only in relation to sound, but in the way bodies listen and respond to one another. In my facilitation, I move alongside participants, creating a grounded yet dynamic space that supports trust, clarity and group cohesion.
Alongside my artistic practice, my background in cultural production and large-scale events allows me to work with reliability, structure and adaptability in diverse professional contexts.
