Description
This is not a session about climbing faster. It is a session about seeing clearly.
In this reflective, structured, and deeply human experience, participants step out of momentum and into meaning. Drawing on the principles of The Career Equation®, particpants explore the fit between their skills, passions, impact, and environment — and how friction in that system shapes their daily experience. Through guided reflection, storytelling, and purposeful inquiry, attendees clarify what truly matters now, what may need to change, and how to move forward with greater confidence, coherence, and intention. The result is elegant and deeply authentic sense of direction and a lasting plan of action.
Benefits
We will explore how to align who you are and how you are with what you are bringing into the world.
1. Pause: The Privilege of Perspective (15 mins)
Participants are invited to slow down and reflect on where they are, rather than where they are supposed to be.
They learn to distinguish:
-
momentum from meaning
-
achievement from fulfilment
-
busyness from direction
Core question: “Am I just in motion, or am I choosing from an authentic place?”
2. The Career Equation® Lens (20 mins)
A refined introduction to my framework as a tool for self-understanding:
Participants examine:
-
Skills – what they are genuinely excellent at
-
Passion – what gives them energy rather than drains it
-
Impact – where they feel their contribution matters
-
Environment Fit² – where friction is helping or hindering them
They learn that clarity is not about finding the perfect career, but improving the quality of the fit. We create a bespoke career design for each person, which they share with others in the group.
3. Story as Self-Knowledge (20 mins)
Attendees explore their own career through personal story and narrative tools. We explore:
-
a pivotal moment
-
a choice they made
-
a turning point they often overlook
They learn how story reveals values, patterns, and priorities that spreadsheets never can.
4. Friction and Freedom (15 mins)
A sophisticated reflection on what is currently blocking them:
-
organisational friction
-
relational friction
-
psychological friction
And what could be eased, negotiated, or redesigned rather than endured.
5. Intentional Direction (20 mins)
Participants articulate:
-
one clear insight about themselves
-
one area where they want more alignment
-
one small, meaningful next step
Not a 10-year plan, but a real world 12 month design to implement a dream or a considered next move.
-
Greater Clarity of Direction
Participants leave with a cleaner sense of what truly matters in their work and why. -
Stronger Decision-Making Confidence
They gain a reliable inner compass for career choices, rather than reacting to pressure or prestige. -
Reduced Friction, Increased Fit
Better understanding of where their environment supports them — and where it does not. -
Deeper Self-Awareness and Purpose
A more integrated sense of who they are and how they want to show up professionally. -
More Coherent Leadership Presence
When people understand themselves better, they lead, communicate, and influence with greater authenticity. -

About the Host
I am a popular C-Suite speaker and thought leader on leadership, talent strategy and organisational performance. I help people and organisations navigate work, transitions, and purpose — with empathy, clarity, and engaging storytelling. My sweet spot is building rapport quickly, asking the right questions, and making complex ideas simple and compelling. Over the past decade, I’ve created The Career Equation®, a framework that’s been licensed by global companies, featured in my two books, and brought to life in workshops and keynotes around the world.
