Jan Vican

I’m a Prague-based wine professional and co-owner of Enoteca Karlín and Enoteca JZP, with several years of experience working with wine, hospitality and people. I’m also a co-founder of Natur Ale Ale, a wine festival focused on natural and low-intervention wines. My particular focus is on natural and low-intervention wines, but my approach to wine is broader: I’m interested in making wine understandable, approachable and genuinely enjoyable. I believe the best wine experiences are not about showing people how much you know, but about making them curious. I enjoy creating relaxed, engaging environments where people feel comfortable asking questions, challenging their assumptions and discovering something new. My style is informal, conversational and rooted in real experience rather than rigid rules or wine jargon. I’m particularly interested in the stories behind wine, the people who make it, and the different ways a product can be understood and experienced. I’m less interested in telling people what they should like and more interested in helping them discover what they actually like themselves.
