About Tonia

I am an accessibility professional and program officer with experience supporting federal accessibility initiatives aligned with the Accessible Canada Act. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology, which shapes my understanding of human behavior, social systems, and the structural barriers that impact inclusion in the workplace. My work focuses on disability awareness, barrier identification, accessible communications, and fostering inclusive workplace practices that are both practical and sustainable. I am especially passionate about helping organizations move beyond compliance toward meaningful cultural change. I support colleagues and partners in navigating complex and sensitive accessibility matters, including accommodations, with clarity, respect, and a human-centered approach. I also design and facilitate engagement sessions that build awareness, confidence, and psychological safety within teams. My perspective is shaped by both professional experience and lived experience with an invisible disability, allowing me to bring depth, authenticity, and real-world insight to my work. Earlier in my career, I worked as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) intake coordinator, where I developed strong skills in active listening, empathy, and navigating sensitive conversations. I am bilingual in English and French and am passionate about helping teams build more inclusive, respectful, and accessible work environments.
