Yumi is the founder of the Imagination Improvement Institute. A Certified Senior Trainer, she has facilitated music-guided imagination sessions for professionals, students, families, and community groups since 2017. Imagination is a deeply human capacity – and one we can strengthen. It helps us envision possibilities beyond what is already known and recognize problems that have not yet been named. As AI and rapid change reshape work, organizations cannot afford to wait until challenges become obvious or continue relying only on familiar ways of thinking. Yet while creative thinking is receiving greater attention, imagination – the capacity that helps it begin – is still often overlooked. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 ranks creative thinking fourth among employers’ core skills and identifies it as a skill expected to grow further in importance through 2030. Her sessions give teams a practical way to exercise this capacity now, before mental overload and habitual thinking narrow what they are able to see. Her work helps people step out of mental overload, regain clarity, and access perspectives and insights they may not reach by thinking harder. Sessions combine specially edited music with open-ended imagination prompts, quiet reflection, and practical tools participants can use again. Her sessions are non-clinical, non-religious, and accessible to beginners. They can be customized around wellbeing, creativity, change, self-reflection, or future-focused themes and delivered in English or Japanese, in person or online.
