Zarina is a multidisciplinary artist, creator and researcher in the body, performing and visual arts. She has over 20 years of experience in high-performance sports, specializing in rhythmic gymnastics, and has since expanded her practice to contemporary, urban, improvisation and experimental dance, physical and gestural theater, audiovisual creation, drawing, painting and music.
Guided by inspiring colleagues, mentors and choreographers from both national and international scenes, Zarina has developed paths of exploration that arise not only from technical mastery but also from personal, spatial, physical, spiritual and emotional observation.
Her work reflects a deep connection to movement, performance, visual arts and nature with a bite of color and psychedelia. Additionally, improvisation plays a central role in her creative process, not only in movement but also in drawing. Allowing "mistakes" come to life as new path roads for the process.
Currently, Zarina is deeply engaged in self-knowledge, personal growth, meditation, silence, yogic philosophy, therapeutic sound, martial arts, healthy living, sustainability, conscious consumption and community. She believes that trusting ourselves, raising our voices, and remaining authentic at the core of our values, what we believe and what we express, do, and create, is a beautiful path to personal healing and the collective evolution of humanity.
