Description

Focus: Inclusive Leadership & Non-Verbal Communication

In this session, we strip away the traditional gender roles of Ballroom. Instead of "Men Lead, Women Follow," we explore the concept of shared agency.

The Experience: Participants learn the fundamentals of physical connection and how to signal intent without speaking through the medium of Ballroom & Latin dancing.

  • The Corporate "Vitality" Takeaway: By rotating roles, team members gain empathy for both the "leader" and the "supporter" positions, breaking down workplace silos and improving collaborative communication.

Benefits

Empathy, cohesion, collaboration, understanding of inclusivity concepts, relationship-building, relaxation, movement

Hosted by Izzi Williams

About the Host

I am an experienced Ballroom and Latin dance practitioner and former competitor with a lifelong dedication to the art, having competed at the prestigious Winter Gardens in Blackpool since the age of six.

In 2023, I founded Foxtrot Oscar with a clear mission: to dismantle the outdated hierarchies and exclusionary practices often found in the traditional dance world. Having witnessed the impact of gatekeeping and gender imbalances first hand, I am determined to redefine ballroom as a safe, inclusive, and equitable space.

In the corporate sphere, I translate this mission into 'Sessions of Vitality' that focus on Radical Inclusion and Dynamic Communication. My workshops strip away the 'old-fashioned' tropes of ballroom – such as gender-coded roles and passive participation – and replace them with a modern focus on mutual trust, non-verbal consent, and shared leadership.

By using dance as a laboratory for social connection, I help corporate teams build a stronger social fabric where every individual – regardless of identity – feels empowered to lead, follow, and move with confidence.
