Description
DMT is a verbal and non-verbal research-supported method for exploring emotions and managing stress, relationships, and personal challenges through the body and movement. The space offers safe and creative exploration to reconnect with oneself, others and by processing emotions through creativity—no dance experience needed—no dance experience needed.
DMT is :
-
a holistic practice that integrates the emotional, cognitive, physical, and social aspects of self.
-
uses both verbal and non-verbal communication.
-
supports emotional expression, self-awareness, and healing through movement—valuing how you feel over how you move.
-
provides a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where movement becomes a tool for self-discovery and connection.
-
Sessions focus on improvisation and creative expression, using a strengths-based approach to support socialization, confidence, and emotional well-being.
-
There are no prescribed steps or right or wrong ways to move— offer a space to explore, express, and grow.

A warm-up to ease into movement and connect with your body.
-
Theme exploration using props, images, music, or role play to support expression.
-

About the Host
I am a certified Dance and Movement Therapist, graduating with distinction in 2023 from the University of Roehampton in London, UK with a Master’s in Dance Movement Psychotherapy (DMP). I am a former First Soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, I danced professionally for 16 years before transitioning to therapy. My volunteer work with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Montreal and the LGBTQ Prisoner Correspondence Project deepened my conviction in the healing power of the arts, and inspired me to transform my passion into a tool for healing, supporting my community through movement and creativity. My therapeutic approach is humanistic, person-centred, trauma-informed, and feminist. I have clinical experience in psychiatric hospitals, special education schools, and community mental health settings. I also advocate for creative arts therapies in Canada, serving on the Boards of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)’s Creative Arts Therapies Chapter, as well as the Regroupement Québécois des Thérapies par les Arts (RQTA).
