Description

In this feedback approach, I focus on peer-to-peer communication rather than traditional top-down or upward feedback. Drawing from methods used in the arts and Nonviolent Communication, this process isn’t about critiquing behavior but about how we talk about the work itself. By focusing on the material—whether it's a report, project, or presentation—assumptions and misunderstandings are minimized, creating a clearer path for improvement. This method empowers the individual to take responsibility for how they choose to adapt, fostering autonomy and growth, making it a powerful tool not just for creative projects but for any professional environment. In turn, when a culture has a safe way of communicating with each other, then these methods can be used in interpersonal situations.

Benefits

Why this method: Peer-to-peer feedback that avoids hierarchical dynamics.
Encourages participants to speak about the work itself, fostering clarity and avoiding misunderstandings or assumptions. Focus is placed on information that is tangible and useful.
Empowers individuals to take responsibility for implementing changes.
Ideal for fostering open, non-judgmental dialogue. By revealing how a person sees, one's values and goals are expressed.
This method helps people hear and give honest, critical feedback without being reactive or defensive.
The method provides tools so participants learn to be accountable for what they do and say.
By only speaking to what is presented, this method encourages critical thinking and unbiased reflection.
The result is improved communication and clear next steps to take so one can keep working immediately.

About the Host

I bring together movement, science, and somatic practice to help teams grow more connected, resilient, and creative. With a PhD in embodied communication from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, my research explored how we perceive, imagine, and create “lines” as organizing principles for experience and sense-making. This work at the intersection of cognitive science and performance has shaped how I approach leadership training: translating deep concepts of perception, empathy, and metaphor into clear, practical tools for communication and collaboration. Alongside my academic work, I have over 25 years of international teaching experience in creative practice and contemporary movement. I’ve also presented my research on dance, neuroscience, and sense-making at conferences in Germany, Portugal, the UK, and beyond. My training goes beyond the studio: I am a certified Pantarei Approach bodyworker, experienced in Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry, and a long-time practitioner of non-violent communication. Since 2008, I’ve facilitated feedback processes using the Fieldwork method, helping people exchange constructive input without tension or conflict. Today, I channel this blend of research, artistic practice, and therapeutic training into Flow Shaped Leadership. Whether guiding teams in feedback culture, supporting managers in public speaking, or creating workshops on empathy and team dynamics, I draw on my background in movement, science, and somatics to help people lead — and listen — with presence and authenticity.
