Description

The Strategic Storytelling Lab is an immersive, theatre-inspired exploration into how story can shape strategy, culture, and connection.

Using principles and techniques drawn from theatre-making, this lab helps participants cut through the noise and get to the essence of their stories, uncovering narratives that can be used strategically in organisational contexts.

Based on over a decade of storytelling work in organisations, this process has been honed to produce deep insights that move participants from story-shy to story-bold.

We begin by harvesting personal stories from lived experience, before moving into a peer-coaching process where the group supports one another to identify insights, patterns, and learnings. From here, participants translate those discoveries into clear, relatable, and impactful storytelling techniques that can be adapted for communication, leadership, and strategic alignment.

This is not a lecture or linear session. It’s a hands-on, co-creative process where the technical, structural, and universal elements of storytelling emerge organically. Participants leave with a deeper, embodied understanding of how to activate story as a tool for authentic connection and strategic influence.

The foundation of this session is an activated story circle where deep connection, authenticity, vulnerability, and insights emerge.

"What I expected to be a nerve-wracking experience transformed into something entirely different. Within minutes, Colin had woven us into a circle of trust so genuine that vulnerability felt like coming home." - Eloise

Benefits

  • Reframe their identity as storytellers, recognising that they already tell stories every day, in conversations, meetings, and moments of reflection.

  • Understand the core components of story, structure, tension, transformation, and creative technique, and how to apply them strategically.

  • Have the opportunity to shed layers of inhibition in the support of peers, making storytelling more natural, embodied, and less “slippery.”

  • Learn to connect personal experience to organisational purpose, translating insight into stories that move others toward action.

  • Strengthen their ability to listen for story, identifying narrative patterns and possibilities in others’ communication.

  • Experience storytelling as a practice of presence and empathy, enhancing how they engage teams and audiences.

  • Leave with renewed confidence, clarity, and playfulness in how they craft and share their stories in professional contexts.
