The Three Steps
PART 1:
Sharing:
Each person shares a 2 min story about a time they felt proud/accomplished - of success or overcome a hurdle in their personal life.
- Accomplishment: Eg. Pulling off something big.
- Overcoming: Eg. Got out of a difficult situation.
- Imact: Eg. Helped someone out.
8 min
Reflection:
- The 3 other people each pick 1 adjective to add to the speaker's strength card
- They reveal it to the speaker
- They each give positive feedback on which strength they identify in the speaker and why/how
3 words in card total.
1-2 mins → 3-6 min
Repeat for each person.
PART TWO
Action:
- Each person shares a challenge, a goal, an obstacle, or an action they're trying to accomplish or overcome today.
- They discuss with the group for a few minutes how:
- Their strengths, just identified, can help with this
- Or if someone in the group or any of their contacts can help with this
5 min each - 15 min
Total time: ˜30 mins
Post workshop:
- Share: Each person goes around the room and discusses each other's strength cards.
- Collaborate: Perhaps to accomplish what they'd like, they can collaborate with someone else who has a particular strength
Post-event:
- They keep the strength card with them as a reminder of “how” they are strong. It's their mini ‘strength mirror’.
