Description

What it is

A slow, floor-based session that pulls a team out of fight-or-flight and into rest. Yin yoga is not a workout and needs no flexibility or experience. You hold a handful of supported, comfortable shapes for a few minutes each, and that quiet, sustained stillness is what reaches the deep connective tissue and, more to the point, the nervous system. I close with a sound bath, so people drop into the deepest rest most of them get all week.

Most teams spend the day braced: screens, notifications, back-to-back calls, and now AI speeding everything up. Bodies hold that as tight shoulders, shallow breath, and a mind that will not settle. This session is the exhale. People leave loose, clear, and calmer, and they leave with one simple thing they can do at their desk when the next tense afternoon hits.

No changing needed. Comfortable clothes and socks are enough.

What we do

  • Arrive and settle (5 min). Land, slow the breath, let the day drop away.

  • Gentle release (10 min). Simple reclined and seated movements for the neck, shoulders, and hips, exactly where desk tension lives.

  • The Yin sequence (25 to 35 min). Four to six supported poses held two to four minutes each, propped with bolsters and blankets so the body can actually let go. Chair variations for anyone who needs them.

  • Sound bath and deep rest (10 to 15 min). Guided stillness with singing bowls, where the nervous system fully downshifts into rest-and-digest.

  • Slow return (5 min). A gentle re-entry and one portable practice, a 60-second reset the team can use at their desks long after I leave.

Format

Runs as a 45 to 90 minute session, in person in Berlin and across Germany, or online for distributed teams. Works as a wellbeing-day centrepiece, an offsite wind-down, or a standing monthly reset.

Benefits

  • A calmer nervous system. Long holds and the sound bath switch the body from stress mode into rest-and-digest, which is where recovery actually happens.

  • Real physical release. The neck, shoulders, hips, and lower back that seize up from a day at a desk get room to open, so people leave lighter.

  • Better focus afterwards. A settled nervous system thinks more clearly, so the hours after the session tend to be some of the sharpest of the week.

  • Deeper rest and better sleep. People learn how "off" is supposed to feel, and often report the best sleep in ages that night.

  • A shared exhale for the team. Slowing down together, in the same quiet room, does something for cohesion that another fast group activity cannot.

  • Burnout prevention, not just relief. A repeatable reset plus one desk-side practice gives the team a way to catch depletion before it becomes a problem.

  • No barrier to entry. No flexibility, no fitness, no experience, no changing. Anyone on the team can do it.
