Description

Every organization is driven by a story. This workshop helps participants identify, shape, and share the narratives that clarify their mission within an organization, and shows them the building blocks of powerful narrative writing. Through fun, guided exercises, employees learn to move beyond data, facts, and goals, to the deeper "why" that drives engagement and trust as they connect with others. Participants will learn to use the power of narrative to increase their efficacy and boost morale across the board. Ideal for leadership teams, communications staff, or any group looking to strengthen messaging and collaboration.

About the Host

I am an award winning writer with an MFA degree from The University of Iowa, and have taught narrative writing workshops at all levels for over 15 years. Specialized in narrative nonfiction and having worked in Communications for a nonprofit organization in the past, I am passionate about teaching non-writers how to harness the power of narrative and use storytelling for professional and personal empowerment. I also can guide participants in tapping into writing as a source of creative release and therapeutic self-expression. I can teach in English and Dutch, as I am fluent in both languages. I don't think there is anything more empowering for a person than to take ownership of their story and express it through their own lens. This is why I ask every business and participant in my workshops, "What's your story?"
