Workshop

Description

A reflective and strategic team workshop, where group dynamics and culture are decoded through nature's blueprints and translated into a concrete 30-day team experiment. Drawing on examples from ant colonies, mycelium networks, wolf packs, and coral reefs, teams gain a shared language and a practical action to move forward together.

Attendees move through five stages:

  1. Nature's blueprints – The group explores how nature organises collective life, examining real examples of cooperation, resilience, and distributed intelligence.
  2. Individual diagnosis – Each participant connects natural patterns to their own team's dynamics and identifies what resonates personally.
  3. Small group deep dives – Sub-groups deconstruct a specific natural organism and analyse its survival and cooperation strategies in depth.
  4. Design one experiment – Groups ideate practical, nature-inspired actions their team can try over the next 30 days.
  5. Ecosystem map close – A collective visioning exercise where the full team imagines and maps what their ideal team ecosystem could look like.

Each group leaves with an ecosystem map poster and a 30-day experiment card.

Benefits

  • Team cohesion & relationship-building – Shared exploration of natural metaphors opens new channels of communication and builds genuine connection between team members
  • Alignment & strategic clarity – Teams leave with a shared language and one concrete experiment to try together, creating immediate momentum
  • Creativity & fresh perspective – Biomimicry as a strategic lens breaks habitual thinking and unlocks nature-inspired approaches to team challenges
  • Self-awareness at team level – The diagnosis process helps teams surface unconscious dynamics, identify patterns, and name what's working or not
  • Resilience & adaptability – Nature's strategies for surviving and thriving become mirrors for how teams can respond to uncertainty and organisational change
  • Practical, tangible outcomes – Every team leaves with a physical ecosystem map poster and a 30-day experiment card — not just insights, but next steps
  • Engagement & motivation – The hands-on, visually rich format re-energises teams and creates a memorable shared experience
  • Wellbeing through nature connection – Even in a team context, grounding the session in the natural world has a calming, perspective-shifting effect on participants

About the Host

Beatriz Bento is a Lisbon-based facilitator and educator working at the intersection of biomimicry, design thinking, and regenerative learning. She co-teaches Design Thinking for Social Innovation at Nova School of Business and Economics, leads pedagogical programming at Nãm Mushrooms, and collaborates with Locals Approach, a co-design laboratory focused on collective intelligence.

Her workshops invite teams and individuals to learn from nature's 3.8-billion-year blueprint, exploring how organisms like mycelium networks, coral reefs, and wolf packs can illuminate the way we work, lead, and take care of ourselves. Sessions are hands-on, sensory, and grounded: part immersive experience, part practical toolkit.
