Description

Disconnect to Reconnect: A Digital Detox Workshop

We're more connected than ever before - yet many of us are struggling with shorter attention spans, digital fatigue, constant distractions, and a growing sense of overwhelm.

This energising and interactive workshop is divided into two powerful halves:

📵 Disconnect – from technology, notifications, digital overwhelm, and the habits that quietly drain our attention, creativity, and wellbeing. Participants explore the impact of our always-on world and learn practical strategies to move from "Monkey Mind" to "Monk Mind"—shifting from constant distraction and mental clutter to greater focus, presence, and intentional living.

💛 Reconnect – with yourself, your colleagues, and what truly matters most. Through guided reflection, meaningful conversations, and the eyeConnect Digital Detox experience, participants step away from their screens and into genuine human connection. They will also create their own Personalised Digital Detox Action Plan, identifying practical habits, boundaries, and rituals that help them stay focused, present, and intentional long after the workshop ends.

Blending behavioural science, positive psychology, digital wellbeing research, and Nini's signature human-centred facilitation style, this workshop helps teams build healthier relationships with technology while strengthening the connections that matter most.

Participants leave with practical tools to reduce digital overwhelm, improve focus and productivity, boost creativity, strengthen human connection, and a personalised Digital Detox Action Plan they can implement immediately.

Benefits

Disconnect to Reconnect: A Digital Detox Workshop

In today's always-on world, many employees struggle with digital overload, constant distractions, reduced focus, and the pressure to always be available. This interactive workshop helps participants build a healthier relationship with technology by learning practical strategies to reduce digital overwhelm, improve focus, strengthen wellbeing, and reconnect with what matters most.

The experience is divided into two powerful halves:

📵 PART 1: DISCONNECT

Participants are guided through an engaging exploration of modern digital habits and the impact technology has on their attention, productivity, wellbeing, and relationships.

Activities include:

• Interactive discussion on digital overload, notification culture, multitasking, and the "always-on" workplace

• Exploration of the psychology behind smartphone use, dopamine loops, FOMO, and why our brains struggle to disconnect

• "Monkey Mind vs Monk Mind" exercise exploring how technology impacts focus, creativity, and mental clarity

• Digital Junk Food vs Digital Superfood activity, where participants audit their apps and identify which digital behaviours energise versus deplete them

• Reflection exercise to identify personal technology triggers, distractions, and areas where digital boundaries could be improved

• Practical strategies for reducing screen time, improving focus, creating tech-free zones, managing notifications, and using technology more intentionally

💛 PART 2: RECONNECT

Once participants understand what they need to disconnect from, the focus shifts towards what they want to reconnect with.

Activities include:

• Guided reflection on personal values, priorities, relationships, hobbies, and activities that create genuine fulfilment

• Discussion on the science of human connection, happiness, and wellbeing

• Facilitated eyeConnect experience, where participants engage in meaningful conversations designed to strengthen team connection and psychological safety

• Reflection exercise exploring where participants would like to invest the time and attention reclaimed from their devices

• Personal Digital Detox Design Session, where each participant creates their own realistic and personalised Digital Detox Action Plan

Participants define:

  • Their biggest digital distractions
  • Technology habits they wish to reduce
  • Activities they want to do more of offline
  • Boundaries they want to establish
  • A practical first action step they can implement immediately

About the Host

Hi, I'm Nini - Founder and Chief Energy Officer (CEO) of The Work Happiness Project.

Originally from the south of Germany and now based in Sydney, my mission is simple: to leave every person I encounter at least 1% more energised than I found them.

After spending five years building remote cultures and hosting connection experiences from the beaches of Bali, I traded my coconut-filled island life for the corporate world. Why?
Because island life taught me exactly what modern work needs more of: less stress, burnout, and "always-on" culture — and more connection, presence, purpose, and energy.

Today, as a retired digital nomad and self-proclaimed Corporate Hippie, I help organisations translate wellbeing into business outcomes. Blending positive psychology, behavioural science, and human connection, I create edu-taining experiences that help people burn bright, not out.

Since 2020, I've partnered with global teams at Dell, Meta, Google, HubSpot, NSW Government, and high-growth organisations across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the US.

Popular sessions include:
• Design Your 12-Step Bucket List
• Fill Your Cup First
• Disconnect to Reconnect

I'm also the creator of eyeConnect, a Digital Detox game designed to get people off their phones and back into meaningful conversations.

Ultimately, my mission is to help organisations shift from "TGIF" cultures to "TGIM" environments - where people don't simply survive the workweek but feel energised by it.

Helping people live fuller, connect deeper, and be happier from the inside out. 💛

Travel Locations

I live in Sydney, Australia and I'm flexible to travel anywhere – either domestically or internationally.
I also spend at least one month during summer, and 2-3 weeks around Christmas in Europe (Germany & Italy) – more than happy to facilitate in person from there.
