Workshop

Description

Learn how to make an exact copy of your own hand using alginate and either plaster, wax, candy or chocolate. Hands caste into wax can also later turned into bronze or even crystal glass. The workshop takes between 60-90 mins and any people can take part, from 5 years to 90+

Benefits

People will learn the process of mould making and gain valuable team work by first receiving instructions, helping each other to complete steps, the patience of doing things in stages and problem solving when you’ve never done them before, sensory joy and the adrenaline of being able to walk away with something tangible and meaningful for your time and efforts. Helps teamwork, reduce stress, creativity and increase wellbeing. Also involves trusting the process and putting yourself out of your comfort zone in a good way.

About the Host

A professional practising artist for over 25 years I have trained in all mediums but have specialised skills in glass. I love teaching people from all walks of life the joy of making things in 3D. I also have a Masters Degree in Criminology and am curious about people in general and how they learn and express themselves. I am open, encouraging, great at building networks and bridging the gap between different ways of thinking and approaching problems.
