Workshop

Description

Duration: 75–90 minutes
Format: Highly interactive workshop (Live / Virtual)
Ideal audience: Multicultural teams, global project groups, regional leadership teams

Benefits

Description

In this hands-on session, participants do not just learn about cultural differences — they actively decode real workplace friction.

The session is structured as a guided experience:

Step 1 – Real Friction Simulation (15–20 mins)

Attendees are presented with a realistic cross-cultural scenario (e.g., a meeting where everyone “agrees” but nothing moves forward).

Participants:

  • Individually write down their interpretation of the behavior

  • Vote anonymously on what they think is happening

  • Compare interpretations across the room

This reveals perception gaps immediately.

Step 2 – Cultural Mapping Exercise (20 mins)

Participants are guided through a structured mapping process covering:

  • Communication style (direct vs indirect)

  • Decision-making flow (top-down vs consensus)

  • Trust-building style (task vs relationship)

  • Authority sensitivity & political risk

They work in small groups to map their own team dynamics on these scales.

Each group creates a visible “Team Culture Snapshot.”

Step 3– Political Risk Reflection Lab (15 mins)

Participants explore:

  • When do I speak up?

  • When do I stay silent?

  • What risk am I managing?

They complete a short guided reflection worksheet and discuss in pairs.

This reframes silence from disengagement → strategic risk management.

Step 4 – Leadership Micro-Design (20 mins)

Leaders and team members design 2–3 micro-behaviors they will test immediately, such as:

  • How to invite disagreement safely

  • How to clarify decision authority

  • How to close meetings with commitment checks

Participants leave with a personalized “Decode Before You React™ Action Card.”

What Participants Leave With

✔ A practical cultural decoding framework
✔ Reduced misinterpretation in global collaboration
✔ Clear language to discuss cultural friction without blame
✔ Immediate behavioral experiments to implement

Unique Value

This is not a lecture on culture.
It is a structured friction-to-clarity design lab.

Participants experience the misunderstanding first — then learn how to decode it.

About the Host

I am a PCC-certified executive coach, cross-cultural leadership consultant, and facilitator working at the intersection of psychology, business execution, and global leadership.

With over 1,500 hours of coaching experience and years of delivering leadership programs across China, APAC, and the Middle East, my work focuses on helping leaders and multicultural teams operate effectively under pressure.

My background combines:
• Applied Psychology (M.A.) with research experience at Boston University • Executive coaching and leadership development across Fortune 100 organizations
• Cross-cultural strategy and China–Global business advisory
• Sales and commercial leadership experience earlier in my career

I specialize in translating cultural friction into performance advantage. In high-stakes, authority-sensitive environments, silence, hierarchy, and misalignment often undermine execution. I help leaders decode these invisible dynamics and design structures that build trust, clarity, and accountability across cultures.

My work is particularly relevant for:
• Multinational organizations operating between China and global markets • GCC and Middle East organizations working with international teams
• Senior leaders navigating growth, change, and cross-border collaboration

I believe leadership today requires not only competence, but cultural intelligence, psychological safety, and structural clarity. My approach is practical, systems-oriented, and grounded in real delivery experience — not theory alone.
