Description

This nature walk is a moment to slow down, pay attention, and notice how our sense of connection grows when we give it a little space. Tune in to the choreography of the natural world, the rhythmic poetry of the human body in motion, and let it bring your imagination into focus.

Attendees are guided through a somatic warm up to activate their senses and ground themselves in the present moment, followed by a slow meditative walk outside. The activity will also weave in a movement analysis elements, as well as intercultural perspectives on the practice, offering different points of entry for understanding this fundamentally human act.

Note: This activity is ideal for nature retreats or locations with access to a calm outdoor setting. The format can be adapted to multiple seasons, however, attendees must dress for the weather.

Benefits

  • Heightened awareness of self and surroundings
  • Embodied sense of connection to the natural world
  • Calm and reflectiveness

About the Host

As an indepent dance artist and choreographer for 10 years, I am an expert in facilitating welcoming and playful encounters that support embodiment, creativity and collaboration. I create opportunities to connect meaningfully, slow down and observe our sensations and surroundings differently, revealing new possibilities for exercizing the imagination. Fostering a deep and restorative connection to the natural environment is a crucial part of my approach so many of my offerings are easily adapted to outdoor situations, be they urban or rural retreats.
